Is this really already our third newsletter? Whoa. They say the third time's the charm... but we're already charmed by you! We hope you find us to be charming too, but not in that Lucky Charms maniacal leprechaun kind of manner... more like Jennifer Aniston in the movie Leprechaun from 1993. Mmmmmm...... --------------------------------- We have new releases! But not many, its a slow week for them apparently... Available today, March 28th: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones (CD, Interscope) Even though Karen O cancelled her last minute performance at Second Story this past weekend, we are going to cut her some slack because the new YYYs disc is pretty gosh darn good. All aboard the hype train! We still have the CD-single for Gold Lion, too. Ghostface Killah - Fishscale (CD, DefJam) PFM.com says 9.0 today. Don't know what PFM is? *slap* (good for you!). Perhaps the biggest and best post-Wu-Tang member with a freaking awesome new album. We will undoubtedly sell out of this quick, but we will get more. Josh Rouse - Subtitulo (CD, Nettwerk) Somehow we missed this one last week, so here it is! Josh Rouse's seventh album Subtitulo is a warm and relaxed affair, much more so than any of his already quite warm and relaxed previous records. Produced again by Brad Jones, Rouse and a small group recorded these ten songs in Rouse's new home country of Spain, Puerto de Santa Maria to be exact, and the album that resulted is perfect for dreaming a siesta away. His pure and easy vocals, gently strummed chords that nuzzle up against one another like drowsy lovers, and charmingly introspective lyrics combine to produce an almost cocoon-like listening experience. (AMG) --------------------------------- Here are some of the hot releases from last week which you all still desperately need to pick up: Prince - 3121 (CD) Quasi - When The Going Gets Dark (CD/LP) Band of Horses - Everything All the Time (CD) Mates of State - Bring It Back (CD) Mclusky - Mcluskyism (2CD/3CD) Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA (CD) Howe Gelb - 'Sno Angel (CD) Madlib - Beat Konducta Vol. 1 & 2 (LP / CD) Television Personalities - My Dark Places (CD) Cocteau Twins - Lullabies for Violaine (2x2CD / 4CD) Liars - Drum's Not Dead (CD/DVD / LP/DVD) We also have still fresh CDs from Stephin Merritt, Neko Case, Mogwai, Konono No 1, Cat Power, Stereolab, Ray Davies (the Kinks), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Devo 2.0, Belle & Sebastian, Destroyer, Beth Orton, and much much more! --------------------------------- We still have a few swanky t-shirts for sale with our lovely logo, but only in sizes small & medium now, sorry.
