Have something on hold at Landlocked? Please take action soon, as we are about to do our annual purge and empty the shelf. You have been warned! We can't stock everything all the time, so please let us know if there are any special orders you'd like us to bring in for that certain someone this holiday season. We will do our best to have it as soon as possible! We will be restocking as quickly as possible to get everyone what they need. Stay warm and dry out there! Please try to support local biz in all your holiday shopping. Not only do you support the small business owners in your own community who employ your friends and peers, but the taxes gathered support the programs and projects in our city as well! If you think Amazon is going to fix the pothole on your road... think again. (Did you know they don't even pay a single dollar in taxes to the state for all their sales in Indiana?!) Wanna know more? Read and decide for yourself: http://www.newrules.org/retail/rules/internet-sales-tax-fairness NEW ARRIVALS for December 13th .................................................. *ask - Painted Hole 7" (self) .................................................. *ask is a new Bloomington band featuring Paul Mahern - vocal & guitar, David England - guitar & vocal, Scott Kellogg - bass & vocal, and Alex Jarvis - drums. Perhaps you saw them rock out some bubblegum classics at Magnetic South during the Can'o'Worms Fest or more recently at the Bishop. Recorded at the White Arc, limited to 500 copies. Arriving on the stellar wind, *ask alternates light and darkness for the purpose of healing the human organism. Continued exposure to *ask energy will entrain one's etheric and physical bodies. Movement is assured. Eddy Current Suppression Ring - So Many Things (Goner) .................................................. They've drawn comparisons to Wire, Can, The Fall, Fugazi and The Stooges. They won the $30,000 Australian Music Prize for their 2008 album Primary Colours then recorded the next one themselves in a few hours in their practice space and spent the dough on a photo shoot for the album cover. Now, after 3 LPs, it's time for a compilation of singles, demos and other stuff they had lying round. Turns out there was lots to choose from- and even after trimming, they ended up with a double album. Charlotte Gainsbourg - Stage Whisper (Elektra) .................................................. Stage Whisper includes 7 studio recordings and 11 live songs. Many of the studio tracks come from sessions for the Beck-produced album IRM, one of the most celebrated releases of 2010. The NY Times called it "an engrossingly eclectic pop record and a kind of coming-out party: the first time that Ms. Gainsbourg the chanteuse has displayed the charisma of Charlotte Gainsbourg the actress." Jonsi - We Bought A Zoo OST (Columbia) .................................................. Written and recorded in short order, this soundtrack comprises more than a half hour of brand new music from Jonsi, including 2 full songs and 9 achingly beautiful themes, plus songs from Jonsi's acclaimed solo album, Go, as well as what might well be regarded as Sigur Ros' most memorable tune, in 'Hoppipolla'. Orchestral arrangements on the score have been handled by previous Jonsi working partner, and 'Reader' soundtrack composer, Nico Muhly, who brings his quixotic genius to the string and brass sections. Kid Kazooey - Lullaby Christmas Carols (self) .................................................. Imagine jazz man Hoagy Carmichael and rocker Eddie Van Halen writing carnival music for kids, while poet Shel Silverstein gives pointers on phrasing. Add a touch of kazoo mastery, and you've got Kid Kazooey! This recording will NOT induce a pre-school mosh pit like what we see at his concerts, though. Parents have been asking for a lullaby recording for some time, and he is happy to oblige. The recording goes a long way in illustrating the artist's musical sensitivity and diversity. MacDowell also plays guitar, accordion and bass, while keeping the ukulele front and center. His wife, Lara Weaver, also contributes flute, and the vocals on the one and only track that is not fully instrumental. Mojo Magazine - Stones cover .................................................. What was it like to be a Stone in the 70s? Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ron, Bill and Mick speak to MOJO about life in exile and on the run, from the new era of Sticky Fingers to the grand comeback of Some Girls. Plus features on Todd Rundgren, This Mortal Coil, Can, a 2011 wrap-up, and a FREE CD of The Rolling Stones classic 1971 album re-grooved by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Aloe Blacc & Joel Van Dijk, Black Joe Lewis, The Bamboos, Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens, Alice Russell, The Sugarman 3, Ren Harvieu and more! Ty Segall - Singles 2007-2010 (Goner) .................................................. Jet-packing around the indie / garage cosmos for the last four years, Ty Segall has done too many singles and EPs and split records and shared records and albums and cassettes to count. Goner is proud to present a double-album of tracks culled from Segall's massive out-of-print catalog, plus some stuff that never made it out in the first place...
