The Beatles - On Air - Live At The BBC Volume 2 (Capitol) In 1994, The Beatles' Live at the BBC was released to worldwide acclaim - hitting #1 in the UK and #3 in the US and selling more than 5 million copies within 6 weeks. Now comes a new companion to their first BBC collection, On Air - Live at the BBC Volume 2. On Air's 63 tracks, none of which overlaps with the first BBC release, include 37 previously unreleased performances + 23 unreleased recordings of in-studio banter and conversation between the band and their BBC radio hosts. Volume 1 also available again! Anthony Green - Young Legs (Moshtradamus) The 3rd solo album from the Circa Survive front man. In creating his latest release, he ventured further away from his punk roots and pushed deeper into the lush, intricate, melody-driven brand of alt-rock he'd begun to master on his first two solo offerings. This is his first solo album recorded in a studio instead of DIY-style at home and is a collection of sprawling, lavishly textured pop. For more help in broadening his sound, Green once again joined forces with Good Old War, the Pennsylvania-based indie trio who served as his backing band on 2008's "Avalon" and 2012's "Beautiful Things." Grizzly Bear - Shields Expanded / B-Sides LP (Warp) Deluxe 2-CD edition includes a bonus CD that contains a selection of b-sides, demos and remixes originally recorded during the 'Shields' sessions. Vinyl B-Sides contains tracks from the deluxe expanded bonus CD of the album. Shields is the fourth studio album from the Brooklyn-based Indie band. The band's sound has been categorized as Psychedelic Pop, Folk Rock, and Experimental, and is dominated by the use of vocal harmonies. Jimi Hendrix - Miami Pop Festival (Legacy) Never previously available in any form, Miami Pop Festival, introduces the first recorded stage performances of "Hear My Train A Comin'" and "Tax Free" while showcasing definitive live takes on such classics as "Fire," "Hey Joe," "I Don't Live Today" and "Purple Haze." The package includes never before published photos taken at the festival and an essay by award-winning music journalist and Grammy Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli. This album includes the show as originally recorded on site by Hendrix's long term sound engineer, Eddie Kramer. Songs: Ohia - Magnolia Electric Co [deluxe] (Secretly Canadian) The hallmark of Jason Molina's career, Magnolia Electric Co., is both a confluence of all he would create and a line in the sand to mark a shift in his songwriting approach. It was the last statement under his iconic Songs: Ohia moniker, and the moment before he began making new legends as Magnolia Electric Co. for the next 10 years. Now with Molina gone, his work gathers more weight and meaning. This expanded 10-year anniversary edition of Magnolia Electric Co. features one never-before-released track plus a 2nd album full of demos. Tindersticks - Across Six Leap Years (Lucky Dog) In their 21 years, they have recorded 9 studio albums, composed music for films, museums, fashion shows and installations, have toured the world, played with orchestras, collaborated with many great singers and musicians, lost their desire, split up, rearranged, reformed, re-kindled their musical passion and in 2012 made what they, and many critics consider to be one of their finest albums, The Something Rain. To mark this special anniversary year in some way, they entered the legendary Studio 2 at Abbey Road and recorded 10 new versions of songs from throughout their history. Across the years some songs were "lost along the way." For one reason or another, they never became how they were imagined to be in their recorded form. This brings together these unrealized tracks as part-celebration, part-reinvention. Trampled By Turtles - Live at First Avenue (Banjodad) Live album from the Duluth-based Americana rockers. The album was recorded during the band's recent tour in support of their sixth studio album, Stars And Satellites. Trampled By Turtles members have referenced such diverse inspirations as Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana and Ralph Stanley. VA - Inside Llewyn Davis OST (Nonesuch) Written and directed by Academy Award winners Joel and Ethan Coen, the film stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, and Justin Timberlake. T Bone Burnett and the Coen brothers produced the soundtrack, with Marcus Mumford as associate producer. The album includes 12 new recordings made especially for the film and soundtrack plus an existing recording by Dave Van Ronk. Also featured is a never-before-released version of Bob Dylan performing his song "Farewell" which was recorded during the sessions for his album The Times They Are A-Changin', and is exclusively on this soundtrack. VA - New Orleans Funk 3 (Soul Jazz) Subtitled Two-Way-Pocky-Way, Gumbo Ya Ya And The Mardi Gras Mambo, this collection features more classic New Orleans Funk in all its forms. The syncopated percussion beat of the second line jazz parade bands, the secret language and dances of the Mardi Gras Indians, the mambo and Latin rhythms of Professor Longhair and the city's many piano players help make New Orleans a unique musical melting pot. A seemingly endless line of amazing singers - Lee Dorsey, Betty Harris, Willie West, Eldridge Holmes - released a constant stream of stunning 45s, backed by the super-funk Meters and produced by Allen Toussaint. The multi-talented Eddie Bo, similarly wrote and produced for an elite set of artists including The Explosions, Chuck Carbo and others. VA - Songs for Slim (New West) On February 19th, 2012 former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap was hospitalized due to a massive right brain stroke. Insurance does not pay for long term care and the general prognosis for Slim is that he will need around-the-clock care for the rest of his life. He needs our help. This 2CD includes Slim covers from Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Joe Henry, John Doe, Jeff Tweedy, Lucero, Young Fresh Fellows, Jakob Dylan, Frank Black, Chris Mars, Patterson Hood, Deer Tick, Tommy Keene, Craig Finn, Soul Asylum and much more!
