Enjoy a smaller than normal holiday release week. Landlocked will be closed for the 4th of July holiday. Have a safe and fun day off! New Arrivals for July 1st .................................................. Old Crow Medicine Show - Remedy (ATO) Fifteen years into their career, Remedy may well be Old Crow Medicine Show's finest album to date. It reunites them with producer Ted Hutt, who also directed traffic on Carry Me Back. Includes the new hit, "Sweet Amarillo" co-written by Bob Dylan, Critter Fuqua and Ketch Secor, using song fragments from the 1973 Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid Sessions. Alexis Taylor - Await Barbarians (Domino) Alexis Taylor's (lead singer of Hot Chip) second solo album, Await Barbarians is a series of songs "from the halfway line." Possessing the same immediacy as his music with Hot Chip and the adventurousness of his work with About Group, there is a unique emotional condor to his solo work. As always with Taylor's writing the moments of honesty are matched with a sense of humour, playfulness and bounce. Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - High Life (Warp) The clearest expression yet of the 'Reichkuti' (Steve Reich meets Fela Kuti) direction that first brought the Eno Hyde collaboration into being. And as the polyrhythms and melodies build, swirl and syncopate, the album feels truly alive with the energy of this time in the studio. High Life reunites Eno and Hyde with the 20 year old producer/multi-instrumentalist Fred Gibson, previous Eno-collaborator Leo Abrahams on guitar, drummer Chris Vatalaro, and keyboardist Don E. Taken alongside Someday World, it provides a fascinating insight in to how consistent influences can lead to very different but connected music, and continues to tell the story of two iconic musicians collaborating and exploring together. Edvard Graham Lewis - All Over (Mego) Having made his name in legendary bands Wire, Dome and He Said, Lewis has developed an exceptional voice with ceaseless exploration of a wide variety of musical forms. All Over is a song-based album that resides amongst the cracks between narrative and song, sound and music. Cloaked in an atmosphere of beauty and paranoia, All Over conjures the spirit of Wire's experimental pop trajectory while simultaneously exploring a multitude of sonic possibilities. Gritty mechanical operations support Lewis' wry human observations in a uniquely disturbing melange of punk, industrial, techno and pop. A dream logic plays throughout All Over, courtesy of Lewis' odd lyrical content being set with all manner of disorientating sound and rhythm. All tracks were written and composed between 2003-2013 in parallel with the works included on All Under. Corb Lund - Counterfeit Blues (New West) On very short notice, Americana and Canadian Roots artist Corb Lund was given the chance to record an album at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, TN. There were two challenges, it would be filmed for a CMT-TV special and he had two days to record. Taking advantage of Sun's record live on the floor nature, Corb recorded Counterfeit Blues an electric, raw and pure homage to the sound of Sun Studios. Every Time I Die - From Parts Unknown (Epitaph) Produced by hard music legend Kurt Ballou, guitarist of Converge, who has helmed recent buzz albums from Kvelertak, Nails, and High On Fire, and offers an unrelenting onslaught of ingeniously composed and furiously executed cathartic hardcore. From the syncopated chaos of the opening salvo "The Great Secret" to the melodic mosh of "Old Light" as close as ETID have ever come to a radio-friendly unit shifter From Parts Unknown sees Every Time I Die pushing the limits of their own sound. RA - Collateral Damage (Bridge 9) These ten songs have brutally honest lyrics that cover a wide range of topics and harsh truths with no holds barred. Musically, these songs are equally as punishing as Rude Awakening puts an updated spin on heavy hitting CT and NY-style hardcore. Red Wanting Blue - Little America (Fanatic) Red Wanting Blue is proudly based in Columbus, Ohio, but could be America's local band. Formed as a college band in Athens, Ohio by singer-songwriter Scott Terry, Red Wanting Blue went on to establish itself as a quintessential example of perseverance; building an exceedingly loyal fanbase throughout the Midwest on non-stop touring, all without any industry support.
